BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) AND PREVENTION THROUGH DESIGN
Service Code: CON-001-SD

Purpose of the Service
BIM and Prevention by Design (PtD) Consulting is a holistic service offered to eliminate, reduce, or control occupational health and safety risks in projects at the design stage. The service includes both the evaluation of architectural and engineering designs from a safety perspective and the implementation of a BIM-based risk prediction (predictive safety) approach.
Scope of Service
• Review of existing design processes, project management cycle and OHS integration level
• Security-focused clash analysis, risk hotspot detection and structural accessibility checks in BIM models
• Integration of Prevention by Design (PtD) principles into the project life cycle
• Design phase risk assessment (DRA)
• Security of temporary works: scaffolding, platforms, access roads, crane operations, crane pads
• Maintenance-repair accessibility analysis in mechanical, electrical and architectural projects
• Evaluation of the relationship between work schedule and construction site safety with 4D/5D BIM
• Optimization of construction site logistics plan, traffic flow, material movement and temporary site layouts
• Integrating design risk registers into the contractor selection process
• PtD committee establishment and process management in large-scale projects
• Preparation of safe design guide, checklists, modeling protocols and reporting formats
Which Organizations Is It For?
It is suitable for large-scale construction projects, infrastructure projects, industrial facility designs, energy projects, real estate development companies, engineering offices, EPC contractors, and design and project management firms. It is particularly recommended for organizations seeking proactive risk control in projects with a high potential for occupational accidents.
Method
Consulting is conducted through technical meetings with project teams, BIM model analyses, design review sessions, field-design integration studies, and the creation of a reference model based on international PtD practices. Results are supported by BIM-based risk reports, design intervention recommendations, and PtD training for the project team.
Advisory Staff
The service is provided by Meganova’s technical team, which includes BIM experts, construction safety professionals, architect-engineer designers and international experience in PtD.
