Purpose of the Service
Consultancy on HSE Risk Management in Restoration Projects is provided to control the specific occupational health, safety and environmental risks that arise during the conservation of historical buildings, to ensure employee safety and to align restoration processes with international conservation principles.
The service aims to prevent occupational accidents and ensure the safe preservation of cultural heritage by managing the specific hazards caused by the weaknesses of existing structures, access conditions and material properties.
Scope of Service
• Evaluation of the load-bearing system, floor, wall and roof elements of historical buildings in terms of safety
• Analysis of structural weaknesses and special hazards such as collapse, fall, loose material, internal void risk
• Determining access, scaffolding, platforms and ladder requirements for restoration activities
• Control of environmental risks caused by dust, noise, vibration, chemicals and biological agents
• Evaluation of fire, earthquake and emergency scenarios with conditions specific to historical buildings
• Determining special precautions for working on stone, wood, metal, paint, pencil work and sensitive surfaces
• Contractor selection, expert teamwork and definition of competence requirements
• Inspection of traffic, material handling, lifting equipment and confined spaces within the building
• Evaluation of compliance with conservation board requirements and international restoration principles
• Preparation of HSE management plan, field rules and training specific to the restoration process
