Purpose of the Service

Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and Monitoring Services is a comprehensive review process carried out to assess the compliance of a project or business with the environmental and social performance criteria expected by international financial institutions.
The aim is to make visible existing risks, regulatory non-compliances and operational impacts of the institution and to provide investors and project owners with a reliable, independent and technically valid assessment.
The monitoring process is designed to confirm whether commitments are fulfilled during the project implementation period, identify areas for improvement and ensure sustainable performance.

Scope of Service

• Assessment of existing environmental and social management system, procedures and field practices
• National legislation compliance and permit/documentation review
• Environmental impacts: air emissions, water use, waste management, chemical management, noise, soil and water pollution
• Social impacts: working conditions, temporary housing, workforce management, community impacts, grievance mechanism
• Analysis of occupational health and safety practices according to international requirements
• Meetings with key stakeholders, employee interviews, and field observations
• Risk classification (high–medium–low) and prioritization of impacts
• Preparation of ESAP according to specific E&S requirements for financial institutions
• Periodic monitoring visits, reporting and performance verification during the implementation process

It is also preferred by investors who want to evaluate environmental and social risks in merger and acquisition processes.

Method

Consultancy is carried out through field investigations, document analysis, stakeholder interviews, examination of measurement results, analysis of performance data and comparative evaluations with international standards.
All findings are presented as a risk-based analysis, a photo-supported field report, a compliance assessment, and a project-specific E&S Action Plan (ESAP).

The service is carried out by Meganova consultants with expertise in environmental engineering, social impact management, occupational health and safety, community engagement, and international financial institution standards (IFC/EBRD/AIIB). Biologists, hydrogeologists, noise experts, social experts, and HSE inspectors are also involved when necessary.
