The Goal of Education
This training aims to ensure the safe operation and proper maintenance of construction equipment, and to prevent accidents. Participants will learn risk factors, operator responsibilities, and safe working procedures for each type of equipment.

Machine Groups and Modules
Construction machinery is classified into the following four basic groups:

  • Lifting Group Construction Machinery (Tower Crane, Mobile Crane and Forklift/Telehandler)

  • Soil Group Construction Machinery (Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Graders, Rollers, Drilling, Piling and Drilling Machines)

  • Concrete Group Construction Machinery (Mobile Pump, Stationary Pump, Concrete Mixer and Distributor Boom)

  • Production Facilities (Concrete Plant, Mechanical Plant and Crushing-Screening Plant)

Program Content

Each group of construction equipment is discussed under the following topics.

  • Roles and responsibilities

  • Technical specifications and standards of machines

  • Risks and safe working techniques

  • Ground conditions and controls

  • Assessment of balance and capacities

  • Ensuring environmental safety

  • Working under traffic, field traffic and machinery transportation

  • Overhead power lines, electrical systems and lightning hazards

  • Mechanical Hazards

  • Installation, replacement and dismantling activities

  • Maintenance and repair operations

  • Periodic controls and inspections

  • Emergencies and preparations

  • Accidents and incidents that have occurred

Duration of Education

4 hours for each machine group, 16 hours in total
